Can be installed on the rope without disconnecting it from the harness thanks to the clip. Self braking system brakes as soon as the handle is released. Control the speed of descent by varying the grip on the free end of the rope. Rope ascending is possible without changing the position of the STOP by adding a footloop and a handled rope clamp/grab.

    The new SMC Spider is the newest design in auto-locking descenders for use in rescue, industrial, and sport applications.

    This is a device that gives you the ability to maintain full control at all times while also having excellent "feel" when on rope. A lever-actuated cam is used to control the rate of descent; rapid for long distances at at quick pace to slow for precise work positioning; either way you are always in control. Release the lever at any time while in descent and it will automatically come to a full stop.

    The Spider may be used as a below device and is designed for use with a wide range of rope diameters.
