MASS DECONTAMIATIONS OPERATIONS FOR FIRE SERVICE TRAINING

  • 8 Hour Training Program

During a WMD event, the primary objective is the treatmenet of injured victims. Decontamination is essential to stopping further injury and contamination. The simple truth is that most HAZMAT, Units don't possess the resources necessary to deal with hundreds or thousands of victims. This 8-hour program has been designed as a "no frills" approach that any Fire Department with an engine company can use. Through classroom lecture, along with tabletop and practical exercises, our Instructors will show you how your department can operate a "Mass Decontamination Corridor" capable of decontaninating hundreds or thousands of vicitms without the use of specialized or costly equipment.

  • MASS DECONTAMIATIONS OPERATIONS FOR HOSPITALS TRAINING

  • 8 Hour Training Program

While some hospitals have developed a decontamination capability for single patients, few, if any, have the ability to decontaminate victims at the hospitals without further taxing hospitals staff engaged in treating vicimts or risking the spread of contaminants, an 8-hour program has been developed to assist personal in completing these objectives. Following the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Heathcare Organization's (JCAHO) "all hazards" approach, this program covers basic decontamination operations, planning for mass descontamination operations, personal protective equipment, contingency plans, containment procedures and joint operations with the Fire Service.
